Aku Sorainen, Founder of the Baltic’s Largest Law Firm, Joins the Supervisory Board of Vegvisir

Vegvisir, a pioneer in Situational Awareness Solutions, welcomes Aku Sorainen to its Supervisory Board.

Aku Sorainen, Senior Partner and Founder of Sorainen, the largest law firm in the Baltic States, has joined the Supervisory Board of Vegvisir. His appointment builds on his strong relationship with Vegvisir, having previously invested in the company during two funding rounds.

“I’m glad to contribute more to forward-looking technology, especially at a time when defense innovation is more critical than ever,” shared Aku, highlighting the significance of his new role.

Aku’s extensive expertise in law and his proven experience in leading a successful international company are expected to enhance Vegvisir’s strategic direction. The company looks forward to his valuable contributions as it enters the next phase of its growth.

He will succeed outgoing board member Villiko Nurmoja, who will focus on his duties at SensusQ, an Estonian defense tech company developing Intelligence Management Systems. Vegvisir sincerely thanks Villiko for his contributions and wishes him success in his future endeavors.

A Baltic Visionary with Finnish Roots

Born in Finland, Aku Sorainen’s connection to the Baltic States began with their independence in 1991. His master’s thesis on Baltic business laws gained significant attention, eventually leading him to relocate to Estonia in 1993. Since then, he has become a respected leader in legal circles, contributing to cross-border business initiatives and regional collaboration. He has also contributed in developing Estonia’s defense-related regulatory framework.

In recognition of his achievements, Aku has been awarded the Service Cross of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia and the Knight’s Cross 1st Class of the Order of the Lion of Finland.
