Vegvisir Core

Enhanced Situational Awareness for Armored Vehicles

The  Vegvisir Core is an advanced situational awareness system that provides mounted personnel better understanding of the immediate surroundings and the areas of interest further away and keeps them in the loop of digital battlefield data via virtual overlays of visual information.

Driver Sensor System (DSS)

This is the most advanced sensor module, where 3 EO sensors are combined with up to 3 uncooled LWIR sensors. It has ultra-low latency and it outputs approx. 2k resolution. It is meant to be the main driving sensor. It comes with compressed air and water cleaning with option to add wiper module. It covers with both EO and LWIR 180 degrees horisontal field of view. This sensor is usually mounted on the front of the platform to offer unobstructed view.

Close Range Sensor System (CRSS)

This sensor system provides clear HD image from a single sensor. The latency is  ultra-low and it covers 175 degrees horisontal field of view. It comes with compressed air and water cleaning. This sensor is usually mounted to observe the close proximity of the platform. Usually it is mounted to the sides and could be mounted to the rear of the platform. This sensor output can be optimised for remote use for lower bandwidth.

Dual Close Range Sensor System (DCRSS)

This sensor system provides clear HD image from a single sensor that is complimented by 1 LWIR uncooled thermal sensor. The ultra-low latency module covers 130 degrees horisontal field of view for EO and 60 or 86 degrees for LWIR. It comes with compressed air and water cleaning with optional wiper cleaning system. This sensor is usually mounted to observe the close proximity of the platform. Usually it is mounted to the back but could be mounted to the sides of the platform. This sensor output can be optimised for remote use for lower bandwidth and with optional wiper cleaning makes it a perfect remote driver sensor.

Helmet Mounted Display (HMD)

Helmet mounted display gives users possibility to compile most optimal User Interface for a specific function with 6 DoF head tracking. The goggles can be mounted to helmet or worn directly on head. The system supports up to 4 simultaneous users that might be with HMDs or screens. Each user can be independent from each other and use all the sensors. It is also possible to sync data and viewpoints between the users.

This product is aimed to produce lowest possible latency onboard the platform. The system can be used onboard infantry fighting vehicles, armoured personal carries, combat support platforms, engineering vehicles, and main battle tanks. It connects the crew into a digital hub to interact with and consume digital data.

Vegvisir can be used by the driver, commander, gunner or dismounts who operate platforms with obstructed field of view. With appropriate communications this can also be a network based system for live connectivity. Each position in the platform has a dedicated functional UI/UX design to customize the experience.
